
ABOUT
In Charge is an aesthetically pleasing calendar app with health and wellness, and mindset work built within. 3 years ago, we went looking for an app that we could schedule our days in easily, but that we also found was visually pleasing. As two people who love anything neutral, clean, easy to navigate and seamless, we found it impossible to see anything that matched that online. This is how the idea of In Charge began.
In our day to day lives and as business owners, we both consider mindset and health to be very important. Daily we were tracking our steps, trying to keep up with how much water we were drinking and sleep we were having. We were using one book for scheduling, one for journalling, another for gratitudes, sitcky notes for affirmations and photo frames for vision boards. As we both have a passion for travel, we found that it was not feasible carrying around all of those books and we wanted to be reminded of our goals and vision every day. It was then that we introduced the steps, water and sleep trackers into the app. As well as a vision board section, a place to say your gratitudes, write your gratitudes, enter your goals, and do daily journalling.

In Charge has 5 theme colours to choose from, beige, pink, green, blue and black and white.






FUNCTIONS
When becoming the best version of you, it is important to take care of your well-being. This includes, making sure you are moving your body daily, drink enough water and getting enough sleep

SLEEP
Sleep is vital for overall health and well-being. It allows the body to rest, repair, and recharge. Adequate sleep improves cognitive function, mood, and supports immune system function.

It is not possible for you to operate at your best when you are not getting enough sleep. Lack of sleep can cause a lot of stress on your body causing you to feel unmotivated, lazy and make unhealthy food decisions.

We included the sleep function into the app because we want people to be aware of how many hours of sleep they are getting a night/week and be able to adjust it accordingly

STEPS
Getting in steps daily is essential for maintaining physical and mental health. Regular walking or physical activity improves cardiovascular fitness, boosts mood, increases energy levels, and reduces the risk of chronic diseases.

We added in a steps tracker into the app to encourage people to move their bodies daily. Moving your body can get you our of a negative mental state, increase motivation and re-energise the body

WATER
Drinking water is crucial for survival and optimal bodily functions. It regulates body temperature, aids in digestion, supports nutrient transport, and keeps the body hydrated for overall health and well-being.

We are all guilty of not drinking enough water daily. Keeping track of how many water bottles you are drinking a day makes it easier to get in the necessary amount. And who doesn't love clear, glowy skin
Mindfulness is vital for mental well-being. By staying present and non-judgmentally aware of thoughts and feelings, it reduces stress, improves focus, and fosters emotional resilience, promoting overall mental clarity and balance.



JOURNALLING
Journaling is a powerful and transformative practice that holds numerous benefits for personal development and well-being. Through the act of writing, individuals can explore and express their innermost thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
This self-reflection process fosters greater self-awareness, helping to identify patterns, triggers, and areas for growth. Journaling serves as a cathartic release for stress, anxiety, and negative emotions, promoting mental clarity and emotional resilience. Moreover, it enhances creativity, problem-solving abilities, and goal setting.
By chronicling life's journey, journaling becomes a valuable tool for tracking progress, celebrating achievements, and creating a deeper connection with oneself, leading to a more fulfilled and purpose-driven life.
GRATITUDE
Practicing daily gratitudes is a simple yet profound habit that can significantly enhance one's mental and emotional well-being. By acknowledging and expressing gratitude for the positive aspects of life, individuals cultivate a positive mindset and shift their focus from lack to abundance.
This practice promotes greater happiness, reduces stress, and improves overall mental health. Daily gratitudes foster a sense of contentment, resilience, and empathy, strengthening relationships and creating a more positive outlook on life.
Additionally, they encourage mindfulness and present moment awareness, allowing individuals to find joy in the smallest of things and live with a greater sense of appreciation and fulfillment.
AFFIRMATIONS
Saying affirmations is a powerful practice that can transform one's mindset and life. By repeating positive and empowering statements, individuals can reprogram their subconscious mind, replacing self-doubt and negative beliefs with confidence and optimism.
Affirmations boost self-esteem, resilience, and motivation, helping individuals overcome challenges and achieve their goals. They align thoughts with actions, creating a focused and determined mindset. Regularly using affirmations enhances self-awareness and cultivates a growth-oriented mentality.
As a result, individuals become more proactive in pursuing their dreams and aspirations, unlocking untapped potential and leading to a more fulfilling and successful life journey.

VISION BOARD
Creating a vision board is a potent tool for turning dreams into reality. By visually representing aspirations and goals, individuals activate the power of visualization, reinforcing focus and motivation. The process of selecting images and affirmations ignites a clear sense of purpose and direction, fostering a positive and determined mindset. Regularly viewing the vision board helps build belief in one's ability to achieve objectives, boosting self-confidence and resilience when facing challenges.
It serves as a constant reminder of the desired future, aligning thoughts and actions towards its realization. The act of creating a vision board empowers individuals to take inspired steps, making their dreams tangible and achievable, leading to a more fulfilling and purposeful life.


GOALS
Why you should always track your goals...
Tracking your goals is essential for successful goal achievement. It provides a clear and measurable roadmap to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement. Regular tracking keeps you accountable, maintaining focus and motivation. Tracking allows you to celebrate small wins, boosting confidence and momentum. It helps you adapt and refine your strategies based on real-time data, increasing the likelihood of success. The process of tracking also enhances self-awareness, highlighting strengths and weaknesses, fostering personal growth. Additionally, it provides a sense of fulfillment as you witness your progress and the realisation of your aspirations, leading to a more organised, purpose-driven, and satisfying life journey.

In the In Charge App, we have created a goals section that you can put your goals into subcategories and check them off. You can set an end date for these goals to ensure you get them done in time. The app will tell you when your goals are due today or when they are overdue so that you can be sure not to miss them.

To-do List

We know how satisfying and motivating it is to write down a task and tick it off. Thats why we added a to-do list function in the app. You can add what you have to do that day by clicking the '+' button and check it off by clicking the circle. We also know that sometimes life gets in the way and not all to-do's manage to get done. By clicking the arrow next to your task, you can move it to
tomorrow.

Psychologically, the act of ticking something off, even if its minor, encourages us to be motivated and makes us feel good.

AFFIRMATIONS
In the In Charge App you can choose to either enter your affirmations and say them outloud to yourself in the mirror, or record them and have them spoken back to you.
Both of these methods will subconsciously trick your brain into believing what you are telling it, opening and changing your mindset completely.

Click the button at the bottom of the page 'Create New Affirmations' and then either 'start recording' your chosen affirmation or 'skip recording'. You will then be given the choice to enter an affirmation title and/or write your affirmation into a text box.
​
Your affirmations will then be presented to you like the image on the left where you can read them directly from the screen or click on them individually to read the text and/or hear your recording.
JOURNALLING
Journalling was a function that we were adamant to have in the In Charge App. We love the ability to write down your feelings daily and not have to go back and view them unless you wish too. Equally, it can be incredible to track your life and mentality through the months and years.

To enter a journal entry into the In Charge App, you simply click 'Journal Entry' in the 'Reflect' section of the app. Here, you will be reminded of the date, and given the option to create a journal entry title. In the large text box you can write whatever you wish.
​
We understand that the beginning of journalling it can feel uncomfortable and often we don't know where to start or what to write. Using blog posts on this website we will be providing you with journal prompts that you can use to feel more at ease and encouraged to write.



GRATITUDE
The gratitude section in the app is split into 2 times of the day. In the morning you fill in your mornings gratitude's, encouraging you to feel grateful from when you wake up, and at night, allowing you to reflect on the day that has been and no matter how it went, you feel appreciative for something.

There is also the option to express how you felt that day at the bottom of the page using various smile icons.

You can access your gratitude section in the 'reflect' part of the app.

Every section of the In Charge App is to encourage you to be the best version of yourself and incorporate small steps into your daily routine that will compound into a big change.
